43~Compost

I think i’m making more compost than I can deal with in my balcony planters. Also…had some difficulty blending this one. Had to stop and stir after attempting to push down with the tamper. The upper portion would not blend as if something was down in the blades…however…that would have typically led to overheating so I doubt anything was stuck. Suffice to say that occasionally one should expect to have to stop and stir if you can see the upper portion not blending.

39~Compost

Mixed. Poured. Stirred. The end.

37~Compost

And it was green…and slushy…and was dumped into the planters. And it was good.  OMG! I actually have something new to say about composting. The more water the better. It blends easier…in the blender, and mixes in the soil easier. A lovely Bianca Gold Hops vine awaits.

35~Almond Milk

-5? cups  soaked raw almonds; 6 medjool dates; 5 cups water

34~Compost

There’s been two composts since the last one on May 13th.

22~Compost

-banana peels; mango peels; apple core (i started using these in my drinks now though); lemon rinds; 2 cups of water…and probably other stuff i’ve now forgotten.

16~Compost

-chopped up the thick lemon rinds, and the other usual stuff and added water. No problem. Thick green sludge for the potting soil.

NOTE 3 (environmental benefits)

Can’t believe it! Very little packaging going in to recycling now. Almost 99% veg and fruit waste is composted and going in to my potting soil. It looks like i’ve reduced all waste by over 80%.

12~Compost (sticky mystery solved)

Used lots of water…full container of stuff…no sticky residue on the side of the container like last time. So i’ll assume the stickiness last time was from making the coconut milk.
