21~Green Smoothie

-4 leaves kale; 1 medium-sized carrot with tops; 1 medium-sized piece broccoli; 4 bananas (2 med, 2 lg); 1 apple; 1 heaping tablespoon hemp seeds; 1 heaping tablespoon sesame seeds; 1 heaping teaspoon hemp protein powder; 1 heaping teaspoon cacao nibs; 1 heaping teaspoon goji berries; 4 ice cubes; 1 cup of water

Colour is green


The apple was an afterthought. I tasted it and felt it needed a bit more sweet. The apple did the trick. All those bananas made it creamy. But it was warm. So through in 4 ice cubes with the banana. Wasn’t enough ice to cool it down but left it as-is. Didn’t want to make it watery. This is to be my dinner at work…and more left over for tomorrow so it’ll be cool in the fridge.

    The ice cubes work really well and do not water down the drink when it is blended and drunk right away. you are absolutely right though, if you make lots the ice cubes will water it down -separate it more to the point – than anything else.

    I’ve not seen any separation yet except in the coconut…thing…I made. lol (it’s a good thing)
    I dunno…i’ve been lucky or something. Most of them taste real good. They are usually really thick. A spoon would not be inappropriate. But they are drinkable. When the green smoothies are warm…it just seems wrong. So the ice helps.
    But i’ve not been mentioning very often the amounts i’m getting from these concoctions. I’m getting close to filling the container…and my intention was to learn how to make enough for ‘the moment’. Not refrigerate. Oh well…all in good time.
