Note 223 (mar/2017 health review)

Notes on my health for the month of March.

Mar 1 – [7 hours sleep] –
Mar 2 – [5.5 hours sleep] – skipped yoga so I could get more sleep. Cold sore getting a bit worse. Cold seems to have totally gone.
Mar 3 – [6.5 hours sleep] – I did the basic one hour yoga session this morning.
Mar 4 – [9.5 hours sleep] – Cold Sore feels like it’s almost gone. Never went to fruition.
Mar 5 – [7 hours sleep] – I did the basic one hour yoga session this morning.
Mar 6 – [6.5 hours sleep] –
Mar 7 – [5.5 hours sleep] – I did the basic one hour yoga session this morning.
Mar 8 – [7.5 hours sleep] –
Mar 9 – [8 hours sleep] – I did the basic one hour yoga session this morning.
Mar 10 – [7.5 hours sleep] –
Mar 11 – [6.5 hours sleep] –
Mar 12 – [8 hours sleep] – I did the basic one hour yoga session this morning.
Mar 13 – [7 hours sleep] –
Mar 14 – [6.5 hours sleep] – I did the basic one hour yoga session this morning.
Mar 15 – [7.5 hours sleep] – woke up an hour early and had trouble getting back to sleep.
Mar 16 – [7 hours sleep] – I did the basic one hour yoga session this morning.
Mar 17 – [8 hours sleep] –
Mar 18 – [8 hours sleep] – two Cold Sores appearing yesterday. My right knee felt a bit inflamed the past 24 hours. Gone now. I’ve felt this before, but usually only for a few hours. It seemed more pronounced this time, but maybe just because it lasted a bit longer.
Mar 19 – [9 hours sleep] – I did the basic one hour yoga session this morning. My right knee still feels stiff (puffy/inflamed) when I bend it. It’s not so obvious until I bend it all the way so my heel is at my rear thigh.
Mar 20 – [7 hours sleep] –
Mar 21 – [6.5 hours sleep] – I did the basic one hour yoga session this morning. My right knee “area” still feels stiff. I think it is not the knee, but a tendon behind the knee. I can almost walk perfectly fine, but noticed at work yesterday that all of the stiffness was coming from behind, and slightly below the knee. And it is a large area so it is hard to pinpoint it better than that. It did not affect my yoga too much today. However it is painful for me to hold my right leg up when standing on my left leg to do The Tree. Kneeling is also hard…but if I do it carefully I can stretch it out so I can fold my leg in to a full/normal kneeling position.
Mar 22 – [7 hours sleep] – this morning is the first sign of my knee/tendon feeling a bit better.
Mar 23 – [8 hours sleep] – I did the basic one hour yoga session this afternoon. I forgot to do yoga first thing when I woke up, but did it two hours later. Same effect as noticed before, so much easier to do the postures at times other than first thing in the morning. I didn’t think i’d notice this effect only two hours after waking. My knee is still sore. The half-lotus and tree postures are very hard to do. With a few others I have to slowly and gently stretch my knee as I bend it, but it is then fine. I heard a few pops this morning from my knee. About 5.
Mar 24 – [7 hours sleep] –
Mar 25 – [9 hours sleep] – right knee area feeling better…but if I want to kneel down I still have to be very careful as it feels sore and swollen. It does not appear to be swollen. There may have been one pop in that area like on the 23rd.
Mar 26 – [9 hours sleep] –  I did the basic one hour yoga session this morning. No change in my right knee…maybe a tiny bit better. I keep thinking I should behave like a physiotherapist and push this area gently each time. Today I heard a few “pops” again from inside the knee area when trying to gently fold my right leg up and kneel on the mat. But overall, it might have been a bit better. During other times of the day, like at work…it seems fine when i’m moving. It’s the times when I don’t move the knee (sitting at work or at home) that it stiffens up and I have a limp for a minute or two while it loosens up again.
Mar 27 – [6 hours sleep] –
Mar 28 – [6 hours sleep] – trouble sleeping. Cancelled morning yoga to get more sleep. Did yoga in the evening. Much easier to do poses…same as other times I did it outside of morning hours. Same problem with my right leg under the knee…now noticing it is mostly on the left side (inside) of the right knee-area.
Mar 29 – [5 hours sleep] – muscles feel sore the past two days (shoulder, neck, back, upper leg) and I wake up in a sweat.
Mar 30 – [5.5 hours sleep] – another day having trouble getting to sleep. Skipped yoga this morning.
Mar 31 – [10 hours sleep] – got 1/3 through my yoga routine but gave up from frustration. My mind kept getting distracted. Probably from too much stress…lack of sleep this week.
